About ATBSO of Queensland
The Australian Tenpin Bowling Seniors Organisation (ATBSO) Queensland is a not-for-profit sporting association created for bowlers aged 45 years and over. We are part of the wider ATBSO family across Australia, working to encourage and support senior bowlers while providing opportunities to enjoy the game in both social and competitive formats.
Our association welcomes bowlers of all skill levels — from highly competitive players through to those who simply enjoy bowling for fun. With Scratch and Graded divisions, along with separate Men’s and Ladies’ competitions, everyone has a chance to participate at a level that suits them.
Our Community
ATBSO Queensland is more than just competition — it is a community. We bowl at a variety of centres across South East Queensland, giving members the chance to experience different venues, meet new people, and share in the enjoyment of the sport. For many, the friendships formed through ATBSO are just as important as the games themselves.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to advance and cultivate the sport of tenpin bowling among senior bowlers, while creating an environment of camaraderie, encouragement, and fair competition. We work hard to strike the right balance between the fun of social bowling and the challenge of organised events, ensuring there is something for everyone.
What We Do
- Organise regular events and tournaments at bowling centres throughout South East Queensland.
- Provide competition for all abilities, through Scratch and Graded divisions.
- Run both Men’s and Ladies’ competitions, encouraging fair play and equal opportunities.
- Foster friendships and community spirit, with a focus on social connection as much as competition.
- Select and support teams that represent Queensland at national ATBSO events, including the Seniors Challenge.
